Falling is usually not a good thing to happen; however, there are times when it is the best thing to happen, such as to prevent something worse from happening. If you spar, you will fall, sometimes because of your own mistake, sometimes because the opponent caused it, and sometimes purposely to avoid an attack or to use your own attack from the floor. If you know how to fall properly, you may prevent or lessen injury.
