All martial arts use terms to describe their techniques, patterns, stances, commands, etc. Some schools use terms in the language of the country in which the school is located and some use the language of the home country of the martial art. Korea is the home country of taekwondo so many taekwondo schools use Korean terminology. Using common Korean terminology means that taekwondo practitioners will understand what is being said anywhere in the world, which is beneficial when competing internationally.
